If Our life were to be divided into 7 days, this is how it would look. Starting on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday. These 7 days define how we live our life. We only have 7 days to live. These 7 days will pass in a jiffy.
As we keep growing, the world shows us how life has to be lived in all matters whether we like it or not.
Education
World Says: Study hard, get good marks, get a good job, get a good wife and live happily. Right from the childhood we have been taught this - Good marks equals good job equals good life. Your cousin is an MBA and look at you. Your friend is a MS and look at you. Our neighbour’s daughter is an Engineer and look at you. So what should I do?. Dude do engineering…Ok then ? do MBA..Ok then?…do CFA…ok then..do Some course…Yes do all of the above and your career will zoom. Knowledge and some more of it and some more of it and some more^infinity. The more the knowledge the more dollars you will earn. Wow!!!
I say: 80% people do what others are telling them to do without a concern of what they want to do. Impress the world and you shall be happy, this seems to be the mantra for loads of people. I have realized 1 thing that : The more you learn, the more you realize there is to know. Even the brightest of us are unaware of many things. Certainly, knowledge is better than foolishness, but remember, in a few years, both the erudite and the fool wind up in the grave and then both are forgotten. The sad part is death does not differentiates between the knowledgeable and the foolish. Such is life!!!
Money
World Says: Look at that car, wow, it must be worth $ 30000. Mrs Brown bought a new diamond, it must be worth atleast $ 50000. My neighbor bought a new house in downtown and it is sea facing Money makes you smile, money makes you powerful, it makes you rich, it earns you respect in the society. Sometimes it even buys you love. But alas it makes you a slave too.
I say: We chase money throughout our life only to find that on our death day, we won’t be taking a single penny with ourselves. Death wont differentiate between a rich man and a poor one. The extra money that you will have when you die is the time wasted to acquire that money. Nobody till date is happy with whatever money he/she has at their disposal. All that effort we spent on acquiring that money will be given away to someone else. Such is life.
Work:
World Says: Dude I sit till 8pm which is 11 hours of work. Oh boy I have so much work today!!! I shall call you back, Iam busy with my work. Damn, she doesn’t even pick up my calls, how busy can she be. I just returned from work, can I call you later?
I say: We all want to work so that we earn money and lead a comfortable life. Sometimes we end up working so hard that we forget we have a family back home without realizing that on our death bed, our family will be around us and not our boss or office colleagues and yet we spend more time at work.
Work is a ephemeral “feel good thing”. As it is rightly pointed in Bhagwad Geeta, that whatever we create, we won’t be able to take with us when we die. All our efforts will go waste and somebody else will enjoy the fruits of our efforts. Such is life.
So what is the point of living, if everything is temporary, Right? ..Wrong. Life is meant to be lived on a day to day basis. There is no point planning for 10 years if you die tomorrow. Any best laid plans can go awry. Life is meant to be enjoyed. You will win and you will certainly lose. Don't waste time on jealousy; sometimes you are ahead, sometimes you are behind, the race is long and in the end it is only with your own self. Don’t give a damn to what people say. They themselves are worse than you. Listening to what people have to say is like an insult to your own talent. Listen only to your close friends and parents but decide for your own self because it is you who are responsible. Remember there are only 7 days to live.
People are never satisfied. If they have little, they desire for more and then some more and then even more. Once they had enough they wish they had less so that they could be happy. They think power and money is more important than happiness.
These past 27 years of my life have been a big learning curve for me. There have been days when I have been happy and there have been days when I have been sad. Life is roller coaster ride for everyone of us. Some days we feel as if nothing can harm us and then there are days when we doubt ourselves. All of us are like a paper, we get tossed in the direction of the wind. Sometimes we are so happy and we believe that nothing bad can happen and there are days when we are so sad that we believe that nothing good can happen, but the matter of fact is both are temporary phases of life and only death is certain.
The more you chase happiness, pleasure, and money the more you realize that it is nothing but ephemeral things that You are after. There is more to life than this. It’s important to be remembered as honest, humble, loyal, faithful, respectful human being, for in the end we are accountable to the Almighty and not the world and never forget that we have only 7 days to live.
Life will ditch us one day and death will be our ally that day. So enjoy while it lasts, keep smiling and keep spreading the joy as an infection and be remembered for all the right reasons.

Mystery of life is there where death is knocking at the door. But still pleasure of life is there if you concentrate to work whatever it is with devotion without looking to the benefit of outcome. The great men’s saying – “Pleasure lies in selfless service”.
Interesting Hub! Death is a truth that we cannot deny. I believe in living everyday rather than worry about past or future. Thanks a ton for the link.
Very nicely done! Thanks! :)
This was such a wonderful hub jay... it left me smiling and deep in thought all at the same time. 'Life is meant to be lived on a day to day basis' - so true! I too believe we live in moments, and that 'like a paper, we get tossed in the direction of the wind.' Yes, beautifully and very wisely expressed! Keep writing... :)
Wow Jayb! That was brilliant...especially the creative touch with 'Facebook' thing. I can see a lot of maturity in your writing now. I've bookmarked this hub and will surely send the link to my friends. Simply awesome! Although this is what hundreds and thousands of people have been saying over the past decades but you said it all in a few simple yet intelligent words. Thumbs up for a very well done hub. :)
Very accurately written and well expressed.
100% agreed with the fact that 'Life will ditch us one day and death will be our ally that day'
Great hub that really makes you think about how you are living your life. True joy really doesn't come from work, money, possessions, etc. Thanks for this reminder!
Loved the hub Jay=)....and its true word to word! When we are young our parents tell us that we have to study hard, get degrees, so we can earn more money and be happy, but money is'nt everything, there is much more to life than that.
A few days ago, I had a dream in which I found out that I had some dreadful disease and I had only one or two days more to live. Yeh, I was scared of death but what I was thinking in the dream was that
"All that future planning, all those studying like crazy to get good grades, all that tension for exams' result, that was all for nothing"
So you are so right, one should just live the moment and enjoy life it to its fullest=)
very thoughtful, JB!!!
nice.. and different than ur earlier hubs... keep it up dude...
Hi Jay - so sorry to have missed this! From Sunday to Sunday - you've encapsulated life so well into those 7 days. And finally, that's all it is and we make such a big thing out of it. You're so right - we need to life life on our terms.
Great hub with great words of wisdom. All things are fleeting, death is one thing that is certain. While we live we should value our precious life and live it in a way that is pleasing to the Almighty.Thank you for sharing these great thoughts. Blessings to you.
Jay: This is such a beautiful hub. It's the kind of hub that makes you think, and makes you feel appreciative. You're an excellent writer! Thanks for sharing this! :)
Another great hub from you. Thanks for share with us. I am glad to read this hub. Thumbs up for you.
Wow, what a profound Hub... and all summarized by the sample Facebook posts! :) Great insight and great views of what we experience in the world. Thanks!
that wuz excellent piece of work, thanks for sharing...!!!
This was such an original hub in thought and execution. I LOVED it- really. I wish I had written it myself, but it is totally in tune with what I think about life and expectations. I have to set time aside in my life to make sure I am on my own track and not going along with someone else's or society's agenda. I just really loved this hub.Great job Jay.
hi jay,
surprised the way u started this hub.. very nicely written and very intersting
Great Hub, thank you for writing it and placing it on Hubpages so that we can all enjoy your words.
It completely reminds me of the preacher in the book of Ecclesiastes 12:8;13,14
After the preacher had set out to experience all that life has to offer he ended his quest with the following assesment.
"Vanity of vanities," says the Preacher, "all is vanity!"
"The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil."
Again many thanks for a great work it was beautiful and the picture you chose wow, speaks volumes. Thank you and God bless
amazing work...read it when you sent it as an email...but feels good to read it again....very well written bro!
Hello Jayb23
What an impressive display of our lives in 7 days. This hub is very truthful and what you say was absolutely on target!
"80% people do what others are telling them to do without a concern of what they want to do." I know exactly what you are saying - Opinions of others are one of the cheapest commodities!
Hummn. No wonder they say a man finds what HE truly desires to do or become by the age 40 to 45.
Love your article.
Voted up beautiful and awesome!
very well written jay..felt good after reading it..especially the education part of it..keep up the good work...
Great Hub, everything written is very true and I fully agree.
Well done Jay.
My Best Wishes to you.

I enjoyed reading this. It makes one take a step back and reflect on life.
Shuku ria. :)
yup, agree jayb23.
Man is known to be living either in the past or in the future and forgets to live in the present which makes him a slave of time.
Voted up!
Hi Jay, i liked most of what you've written, not because i think its well-written, but because it has a good message. Unfortunately, i cannot really comment on the writing bit, since i haven't really read anything you have written, in the recent past. But i would like to point out one thing. Everyone has their way of wanting to be remembered. Some through fame, some through success, some through their inventions. But most of these people, have had to give up something or the other that was close to them, to reach where they are now. That does not make them any less worthy of respect, or make them any less faithful. Its what people prioritize in their life. The sooner we learn to accept that and support people around us, the better it is for them and for us. Living one day at a time, has its pros and cons, its an individual's choice of what they desire. But yes undoubtedly, i agree, in having to gain any of the above, trying to maintain a balance is and still achieving your goal is the true mark of success.
